简介：1969年の松竹作品。脚本が森崎東と山田洋次。監督は山田洋次。藤原審爾の『三文大将』が原作とか。山田洋次作品というよりも、森崎さんの特徴が出た、アクのある怪作でした。よくこんな映画が作れたなあと感心してしまうほど作家性の強い映画で、喜劇と銘打っていますが、話は途方もない展開をします。ハナ肇をブルート、倍賞千恵子をオリーブ、谷啓をポパイに見立てて展開する人情喜劇というのが宣材の惹句ですが、とてもそんな風には見られませんでした。冒頭から森崎さんらしさの連続です。お婆さん（武智豊子）がバスに乗ろうとして、よろよろ駆けて来ます。バスガイド指導員のツル代（倍賞千恵子）が｢墓場ゆきですよ！｣と案内する。お婆さん相手に｢墓場｣｢墓場｣という言葉がなんの遠慮もなく、ぶつけられる。貧乏長屋のおじさんたち四人（田武謙三、桑山正一、佐山俊二、佐藤蛾次郎）が、カラーテレビの入った（という）ダンボール箱を持って乗り込んでくる。ガイドはツル代（倍賞）だが、新米ガイドの教育係なのでこのバスには二人のガイドがいる。焼き場で降りようとして、男たちは箱を落としてしまう。中から死体の足が飛び出してしまい、ギョっとする一同。貧乏長屋の男たちは仲間の暴れん坊のウマ（いかりや長介、写真だけの出演）がフグの毒にあたって死んだので、無縁仏として火葬したのだが、役場の保健局の左門（谷啓）が都合した棺桶代を酒代にして宴会！貧乏人の宴会というバーレスクな展開はまさに森崎流です。ところが、そこへぬっと現れたヒゲづらの男（ハナ肇）。これがウマの友だちで、ボルネオ帰りの暴れん坊。事情を知ったヒゲ男は、お前たちがウマを見殺しにしたと怒る。ただただあわてふためく、共同体のなかの、弱くて無責任な男たちと、酔って理不尽に暴れる外来者＝エイリアン。ヒゲづら男は、ウマのお骨をすり鉢で粉にして水と醤油を加え、男たちに無理やり飲ましてしまう（これはまるっきり、森崎さんの世界！）。逃げまどう男たち。暴れるハナは長屋を壊すので、大パニック。谷啓扮する心臓が悪いという左門はおろおろするばかり。喜劇というよりも怪奇劇ですね、これは。森崎さん脚本・監督の怪作『生まれかわった為五郎』でも、ハナ肇＝為五郎が小便を飲むシーンがありましたが、それに匹敵するアクの強さです。ハナ肇は結局、最後まで名前が紹介されず、みんなには｢御大（おんたい）｣と呼ばれています。この迷惑者を追い出そうとする住人たちの計画はことごとく失敗して、混乱はエスカレートしていきます。気の強いつる代も長屋の住人だが、夫は刑務所入りらしく赤ん坊を抱えて、後家状態。気の弱い左門に頼っているが、まだ夫の籍に入っているので、左門と結婚はできない。暴れ者の御大は誰からも同情されることなく、最後まで迷惑者で終始します。つる代に惚れた御大が傷害保険目当てに工事現場から飛び降りると、その意図を察した左門はとめようとして、御大の下敷きとなり、死んでしまう。通夜の席上、御大は死人を棺桶から引きずり出し、一緒に踊ると、死人は息を吹き返す。しかし、御大はこれに気づかず、長屋を出てしまう。このあたりの奇怪な死人との踊りやドタバタの描写も森崎さんらしいアクの強さです。つる代にプロポーズした左門は、つる代に｢籍がまだ・・・｣と言われて出奔して、乞食同然の生活となる。最後は廃バスで寝ていた左門と、そのバスをトレーラーでつぶした御大が再会し、再会を祝して白い砂をかけあったりして喧嘩をするロング・ショット。いやはや、とんでもない作品でした。（2001年9月）

简介：The main character is Dr. Max Holst, a successful neurosurgeon. One day an intense little man named Steinmetz shows up, who has the real ability to create objects out of thin air, using only his mind. As he has a special interest in Dr. Holst, Steinmetz subsequently invites Holst to his large mansion, which is full of expensive paintings and sculptures, and proves to him that he can in fact materialise objects. Steinmetz’s abilities are evolving by leaps and bounds, and is progressing from being able to create objects only to being able to create living things. His ultimate ambition is to be able to create a human being. He tells Dr. Holst that if he will only perform a certain brain operation on him, Steinmetz will become able to attain his goal. He’s got all the necessary equipment set up in his basement. Dr. Holst, however, is too spooked by the whole thing to agree to this mad scheme, and refuses. Steinmetz then sets about manipulating Holst’s life, to pressure him into performing the operation. By then Steinmetz has become able to create a temporary human being, and in the hope that he can perhaps make his own creation perform the operation, he manifests a doppelganger of Dr. Holst. This double proceeds to take over Dr. Holst’s life, creating chaos for him professionally and personally. And then Dr. Holst starts fighting back. The ending has the dual virtue of being both unexpected and satisfying.

简介：This film is an extremely entertaining psychological thriller with Carrol Baker excellent as a rich American widow getting away from it all at a secluded Italian villa. Enter smart aleck down on his luck playboy, Lou Castel, who has some golddigging motives behind his slick hipster seduction techniques and has no qualms about how he gets what he wants. He encourages Baker's character's incipient alcoholism and dubious self-esteem, brings in his supposed 'sister' to help drag Baker even further into a maze of sick mind games, drug addiction and group sex, all culminating in a descent into near-madness and self-destructive depravity.I won't give away anymore, suffice to say that the film delivers on its swinging sixties, Euro sleaze ambience and psychological suspense thriller credentials in spades. Director Umberto Lenzi's work has been, at best, uneven and he's churned out his share of crap. However, he made some quite good giallos and crime pictures in the sixties and seventies and this is one of them (other good films by Lenzi -- SPASMO, SEVEN BLOODSTAINED ORCHIDS, ASSAULT WITH A DEADLY WEAPON, to name only a few).Unfortunately this film is ofen confused with another okay but not-quite-as-good Lenzi film that was also released briefly here in America under the same PARANOIA title (but is more commonly known, especially on video, as A QUIET PLACE TO KILL).

Je me promenais avec ma Bolex en réagissant à la réalité immédiate : situations, amis, New York, saisons. […] Walden contient le matériel tourné de 1964 à 1968 monté dans l’ordre chronologique. Sans jamais choquer ni se confesser, Mekas a imprégné chaque instant de ce très long film des nuances de sa personnalité. Parmi un vaste éventail de personnages, pour la plupart non nommés ou simplement appelés par leur prénom – bien que certains soient mondialement célèbres –, le seul portrait psychologique est celui du cinéaste lui-même : un poète lituanien exilé, fasciné et torturé par sa lente américanisation. Le film est dominé par un rythme staccato nerveux qui s’épanche régulièrement en grandes exaltations. En accumulant massivement des images, Mekas s’est constitué des archives uniques en leur genre pour assembler ce journal visuel, le premier d’une longue série. Aucun autre film ne restitue à ce point la sensation propre à ce temps et à ce lieu, telle qu’on peut la retrouver en regardant le film aujourd’hui. En tant que personnage secondaire apparaissant régulièrement devant la caméra de mon ami, je suis conscient combien sa représentation des autres reste fragmentaire et elliptique, et cependant ces images sont devenues pour moi les indices visuels les plus forts de la personne que j’étais il y a trente ans. Ceci est peut-être la clé de l’œuvre de Mekas : sa découverte d’une forme cinématographique laissant transparaître ses changements d’humeur, sans imposer un masque cohérent de lui-même.
